If a police officer is investigating something, if they have a call, if they have suspicions, none of those are RAS, a reasonable articulable, spec suspicion that you are in the middle of have, or are about to commit a crime. If you haven't done any of those, they can ask you questions. They can ask your name, they can ask to see your ID, they can ask to see your car. You do not have to answer any questions. You do not have to forfeit your fourth amendment to them, just because they're investigating something, they have to be able to articulate to a judge that they have witnessed either that you are have or about to commit a crime. But she did the right thing by remaining calm being polite because they can't they can't turn that into something else, but never forfeit your rights to a cop ever.
