Shawn is correct about dogs whose owners have them overweight. Here’s a recent story that supports that

Afternoon News junkies. Hey Sean, uh, that actually happened to me the other day. An acquaintance of mine. They have a Dachshund and Dachshund are pretty small dogs anyway, but it is like it's way way overweight and you can tell because the dog just Waddles it just goes slower than you would a normal dog would go. And you can tell also because poor belly you can see like the Part where it's kind of been scraping against the ground. He's walking, and he's got, uh, it, it just and the only way you can say is you don't want to be insulting. But say, listen concerned about the health of your dog. That's not normal for the dog to be that overweight or look like that. And depending on what kind of dog owner you have their, do you take it personally? They say, oh don't call my dog fat. It's like, that's not the case, we're all we all, you know, want the best, you know, best for the dog, you know, stop you know, stop feeding it. You know, take better care of it.
