Obama Fans Need More Than Change

Juan Bonilla, who has managed the parking lot outside Ponce Furniture for more than three decades, set a record Thursday.

Bonilla, wearing a reflective vest with a Barack Obama pin, persuaded several ticket-holders to pay $80 to park in a prime spot near Invesco Field at Mile High.

By 2 p.m., several hours before Obama would deliver his historic speech, Bonilla had collected that exorbitant fee from five people heading to the stadium. A spot for a big Denver

Barack Obama’s Big DNC Speech

DENVER – Barack Obama’s speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night was what many nervous Democrats were hoping for: a forceful challenge to John McCain and the Republicans, and a restatement of the message to change Washington and the nation that propelled him to the nomination.

Joe Biden’s Speech To The DNC

“Our country is less secure and more isolated than it has been at any time in recent history,” said Joe Biden, the U.S. senator from Delaware who a week ago became Barack Obama’s running mate and was presented as the vice presidential nominee Wednesday night.

I think Barack Obama has fallen into a bit of a trap here. The convention so far has been about the Clinton camp and nothing more. Night one featured an impressive speech by Ted…

Denver Police Slam CODEPINK Protester

You know, far be it from me to defend the loons in CODEPINK but these cops were being more than just a little too aggressive. The officer who knocked the first protester to the ground was clearly frustrated and he overreacted. You can also here one of the other officers call a protester ‘bitch’ in the melee. I was just thinking that, other than a few arrested abortion protesters, the police action in Denver has been pretty quiet –…

Suspicious Package Found In Denver

A suspicious package found early this morning near Civic Center was “rendered safe” by authorities.

Denver police officers, firefighters and the Denver Bomb Squad was called to Civic Center Plaza, 1560 Broadway, after the item was found at about 3 a.m., said a spokesman with the city’s Joint Information Center.
