There are a few subjects I distance myself from on the radio show. I’ve never been a big fan of talking about the conflict in Gaza — you don’t get anywhere and debate often turns to fisticuffs — and I like to keep my distance from the abortion debate for the same reason. Though I think emotion makes for great radio, I don’t enjoy spinning my wheels in a useless debate. Still, I can’t help but dive into the story…

No shocker here; Drew Peterson pleads ‘not guilty’ at a court appearance this morning. His attorney is also asking for a judge-swap in the case. Peterson is doing everything he can to lower his bail to an amount he can post but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. The real question here is… could there be a person on this planet who would be sympathetic to Drew Peterson?

I can answer that in 9 letters: O.J. Simpson.

“Kill Johanna. She must Die” and “I think it’s ok to kill Jews and go on a killing spree” are just two of the tidbits out of Stephen Morgan’s diary that would scare any sane person. Morgan, 29, made his first court appearance Friday for the murder of a 21-year-old Wesleyan University employee. The details just get more and more bizarre. Even Morgan’s father called him a ‘loner’ who openly detested Jews.

Though some of the focus on the Amanda Knox case has faded, there’s still some interest in this murder mystery. If you’re not up to date on the details, Amanda Knox is an American student in Italy. She was apparently involved in some bizarre sex triangle that led to the death of her roommate. Her boyfriend and another mysterious character are playing dumb and Amanda seems to be relishing the attention.

Now, Italian authorities say they have a…

They finally got the bastard. Drew Peterson was arrested near his house on Thursday afternoon. After endless interviews where a laughing Peterson played cat-and-mouse with the press about his involvement in the disappearance of one ex-wife and the death of another, police finally gathered up enough evidence to grab a warrant and toss the ex-sergeant behind bars. No word on what prompted the arrest just yet but I’m guessing details will follow at the presser scheduled about two hours from…

A few hours ago, photos of the ‘Craigslist Killer’ made their way onto the Net. Now, it looks like police have a solid lead and a person of interest in the case. No arrests have been made at the moment but get a good look at the guy in this photo. Apparently he was snapped outside of two hotels, one in Rhode Island and one in Boston, right after attacks in those cities.

The Craigslist Killer is confirmed…

We talked about this case when it broke late last year… even played some of the dramatic police interview audio with the child… the case is now closed but the mystery remains.
ST. JOHNS, Ariz. – The charges against a 9-year-old Arizona boy in a double homicide that shocked the United States have been resolved with a guilty plea to a single count of negligent homicide, but the mystery surrounding the case remains.

Mourners — some from hours away — are gathering at First Baptist Church of Orlando for the public memorial of Caylee Marie Anthony.
Eric Rose and his girlfriend drove to Orlando from Knoxville, Tenn., to attend the memorial because they want “to support George and Cindy Anthony.”
“Well, when you watch it every day on TV, you feel like you’re part of it,” Rose told the Sentinel this morning.

As you can imagine, George has had a rough couple months:
The grandfather of murdered Orlando girl Caylee Anthony is being evaluated at a hospital after he was reported missing and sent messages to his family that he wanted to end his life, according to Daytona Beach police.
George Anthony was found early Friday morning at a motel in Volusia County, Fla., after disappearing a day earlier.

More details about the grisly way in which Caylee was murdered:

Newly-released documents in the murder of Florida child Caylee Anthony show that she was placed in a laundry hamper bag and had silver duct tape around her mouth.
The documents, made public Wednesday, include reports from police and crime scene investigators, FBI crime lab reports and transcripts of 911 calls placed by the meter reader who found the girl’s remains, according to MyFOXOrlando.com.

Casey Anthony made a surprise appearance in court Thursday during a hearing that focused on restrictions on what her legal team could do with pictures and X-rays of her daughter Caylee Marie’s remains.
Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland approved a plan that would allow defense attorney Jose Baez to get the images and set up a secure Web site for them — a similar password-safe system is used by the medical examiner.
It’s from yesterday but I…

If a local TV station carries Caylee Anthony’s memorial, Casey Anthony will be allowed to watch from jail, WESH-Channel 2 reported Monday night.
A corrections official shared the information, but didn’t want to discuss specifics on camera, Bob Kealing reported.
Casey Anthony is accused of first-degree murder in her daughter’s death. The memorial expected to be held later this month after the defense team completes its work on the toddler’s remains.
The question is, will local TV dare…

COVINA, Calif. — A man dressed as Santa Claus opened fire at a Christmas Eve party in a suburban Los Angeles home that subsequently caught fire, leaving three people dead, police said Thursday.
Police said they were seeking a person of interest, 45-year-old Bruce Jeffrey Pardo. Pardo, described by police as armed and dangerous, is the estranged husband of a person who may have been at the party.
“He was going through some type of marital problems, and we
