It’s a subject I’ve left mostly alone, not because I’ve been told not to address it but because I’m hesitant to give airtime or blog space to a man who still calls Web traffic ‘hits‘ and has an unhealthy obsession with WGN Radio. Some great analysis of the current cable media landscape from CJR today. I disagree with a few points (especially the bit about MSNBC offering a rainbow of opinons) but this quote is interesting:
From personal experience covering news around the world, you almost always run into a CNN crew or stringer. You almost never run into a Fox reporter, and never one from MSNBC.

We now have more insight into the final moments of Flight 3407 as it crashed into a suburb near Buffalo. I saw this one coming a mile away. You may remember, immediately after the story broke, I was questioning the experience levels of both pilots — especially the co-pilot. A ‘mentally challenged’ man hijacked a plane on a tarmac in Jamaica late last night. CanJet 519 was a Canadian-based charter plane headed from Montego Bay to Canada via Cuba. The hijack wasn’t without incident, at least one shot was fired and several of the 167 hostages were robbed during the ordeal. The standoff ended just hours ago.
