Just a one-line AP blip so far… lots of questions…
Update: No one in the First Family injured. Family friend injured in some minor way and situation deemed ‘under control’ according to CNN.
Update: Sources telling me this was some sort of surfing accident.

It has been reported that a child who is a family friend suffered minor injuries at the Obamas’ vacation rental in Kailua.
Makes sense… there is a high-surf advisory throughout much of Hawaii…
Great point made by a friend of mine… The President took several days to publicly respond to a thwarted terror attack and frightening aftermath and he responds to a ‘minor’ surfboard accident like it’s a Level 7 threat. Awkward.
By the way, the surfboard kid was the ‘child of a golfing buddy’ from what I’m hearing.
