Boy, if you thought Cheney was angry when he was in office, you’re probably exploding right now. How could PBS possibly top ‘The Dark Side of Cheney’? Well, they might just save some footage from the next few months. While President Bush is resting easy at his new house in Texas, Dick Cheney is on a full-court media press defending the ex-president while attacking the man currently holding the office, Barack Obama. At least that’s what everyone else is saying…
Oh, he’s not done yet. They just have to take a commercial break now and again to pay the camera operators and keep Sean Hannity’s compound fully stocked with Veggie Tales DVDs. In the second part (there’s a total of four, the other two air tomorrow night) Cheney tackles the release of memos describing interrogation techniques on high-value terror-detainees during the Bush administration. It’s interesting to note that for all the hate he conjures up, Cheney never raises his voice or shows aggression. Whether you agree or disagree, he provides a calm, coherent argument without any signs of angst.
I’ll post part two tomorrow night…
