The 17-year-old girlfriend of a missing Florida girl’s father has taken a lie detector test, a local sheriff said, but he wouldn’t reveal whether she passed.

Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy declined to disclose the results Thursday of the polygraph given to Misty Croslin in the disappearance of Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings, 5.

“Misty has been interviewed extensively and yes, she did take a polygraph,” he said.

Croslin was the one who reportedly discovered that Haleigh had vanished from her bed before dawn on Tuesday.

OK, here’s what we know so far…

Haleigh has been missing for just over 48 hours. She lives with her father and his 17-year-old girlfriend in a trailer in Florida and her biological mother is no fan of Dad’s girlfriend. Haleigh’s father, Ronald Cummings, was working late Monday night as a crane operator and came home to find his daughter missing. Police are looking at the case as an abduction but the bizarre thing is Haleigh wasn’t alone that night. She was sleeping in the same bed with this 17-year-old girlfriend and Cumming’s son — 3 year-old Junior. It just doesn’t seem to add up…

There are a lot of things that just don’t make sense about this story. It appears DCF (Department of Children and Families) of Florida has been to this house to investigate the family before. The mother, Mary, claims the children have been hit in the past but that everything seemed fine recently. Ronald seem genuinely upset and told the 911 operator he would ‘kill whoever did this’ but we’ve heard that tale before. The good news is, both Ronald and the 17-year-old unidentified girlfriend have taken lie detectors. The bad news is, we have no results as of yet. Also, several sex offenders, one of them a multiple offender, live in the area.
