Man Pulled Over For Anti-Obama Sign

An Oklahoma City police officer wrongly pulled over a man last week and confiscated an anti-President Barack Obama sign the man had on his vehicle.

The officer misinterpreted the sign as threatening, said Capt. Steve McCool, of the Oklahoma City Police Department, and took the sign, which read “Abort Obama, not the unborn.”

Chip Harrison said he was driving to work when a police car followed him for several miles and then signaled for him to pull over.

“I pulled over, knowing I hadn’t done anything wrong,” Harrison said in a recent phone interview.

When the officer asked Harrison if he knew why he had been pulled over, Harrison said he did not.

“They said, ‘It’s because of the sign in your window,’” Harrison said.

Not only was Harrison pulled over, the Secret Service paid a little visit to his house. They grilled him for 30 minutes as his wife and 2-year-old sat in the next room. After 8 years of some of the most hate-filled attacks on record against George W. Bush, I’d like to think most of the American populace would like to move on from this hyper-partisan nonsense but it continues unhinged. I wonder if anyone wearing this or this or maybe this… or even this nice little accessory was ever pulled over, harassed or sidelined by the police. In the end, the police apologized… kind of.

“After 8 years of some of the most hate-filled attacks on record against George W. Bush, …”

Shawn there is a difference between hate and anger. Personally speaking, Bush’s political affiliation is irrelevant. His lawlessness, his dishonesty and lack of remorse or shame is what makes me so angry. My anger is not partisan. It is because the Republicans as a whole (and many Democrats too) excused his behavior and refused to hold him accountable for 8 long years that the nation and the world are so angry.

As for this story you linked, the guy has a right to free speech, and I don’t believe he did anything wrong. But it is not a good idea to promote or imply violence against anyone, Bush included. As far as those linked products go, let the free market decide if people want to wear t-shirts that say “kills retards dead”. I think not.
