So much for bipartisan… Not a single Republican voted for the Stimulus:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — The House on Wednesday evening passed an $819 billion economic stimulus package Wednesday on a party-line vote, despite President Obama’s efforts to achieve bipartisan support for the bill.
The final vote was 244 to 188. No Republicans voted for the bill, while just 12 Democrats voted against it.
The Senate is likely to take up the bill next week.
Of course the Republicans aren’t going to vote for this bill. It’s a payoff. A Democrat payoff for all the help they received for winning the election in the Senate, House and Executive.
If that poll is accurate, that means Americans support this stimulus, but didn’t support the last one. You don’t find anything odd about that?
In other words, of course people would like this bill. That is what a payoff is supposed to do.
“825 billion sure is a lot of money, but if some goes to fighting global warming then I’m for it.”
“I like the food stamps part”
“oh and I like how more money is going to state run offices”
“There is something in here for all of us! Thank you Democrats!”
Like I said, it’s a payoff.
Gosh what a crazy concept. A payoff to the ones who got them all elected. The American people!
A clear majority favors a stimulus package. http://www.gallup.com/poll/113701/Majority-Americans-Favor-775-Billion-Economic-Stimulus.aspx
The Republicans in office are going to further marginalize themselves if they continue to be obstructionists and guarantee a one party dominated government, which is bad for all of us.
