ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) – Republican Norm Coleman is suing to challenge Democrat Al Franken’s apparent recount victory in Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race. At a news conference Tuesday, Coleman says he won’t accept a board’s determination that Franken won 225 more votes in the November election.
The lawsuit will keep the seat vacant for weeks or months. State law prevents officials from issuing an election certificate until legal matters are resolved.
This is a futile move on Coleman’s part. Though I agree that Harry Reid shouldn’t decide when this election ends, it would take an amazing stroke of luck for Coleman to end up anything other than the loser in this tale. I also agree that the process was full of ‘funny business‘ but the reality is, tainted or not, the process is over. Coleman’s real victory will be watching Al Franken embarrass himself over the course of his first term — if he makes it that far.
what a dork. Isn’t Coleman the one who said Al Franken shouldn’t challenge the votes in the first place? typical Republican hypocrite
Err, Shawn – Didn’t you guarantee that Coleman had this
in the bag a few weeks ago?
Let’s try for a little constituency now & then.
Man up & admit when you’re wrong.
I know it’s not the Neo-Con thing to do (i.e.Bill “Always
Wrong” Kristol) But It’ll make you a better man.
Shawn, Here you go, In case you forgot,

Just to keep you in the loop, before the recount Norm Coleman was leading Al Franken by 215 votes. After the recount, which Franken was sure would favor him, Coleman leads by 251 votes.
Sure, there are still contested ballots left but Coleman has it wrapped up…
Does this mean that all of the Minnesota Republicans will whine and moan how the election was “stolen” for the next six years? Nah, who would be that childish and moronic?
