   Hard to say. In your question would that still mean the black John McCain would have been a prisoner of war? Would he still be a 20 year Republican Senator who stood up to Reagan over Beirut, who was against the Bush Tax cuts before he was for them because of pork, fought hard against “torture”, pushed for the surge in Iraq and had Sarah Palin as his runningmate, while his only so called “negatives” were being in the same party as Bush and supporting the Iraq war?

   and would the white Obama still be the inexperienced jr. senator who hangs out in racist churches, hobnobs with San Francisco lefties, demands higher taxes, hides his past from America while lying anytime someone asks him about his associates with the only positives being of a different party than Bush and opposing the Iraq war?

   If so, then the I would see the black McCain as a hero and the white Obama as a ninny. Which, oddly enough, is how I already see them. I don’t care what their color is.

   Hard to tell what America would think. Personally I think the reason Obama is so popular is because he is one of the few Senators who opposed the very unpopular war and not because he is black.

   a black septagenarian – 4th last in his graduatng class- crashed 7 planes in military training – got his platoon killed or captured at the same time he abandoned them – says he doesn’t understand economics – divorced his white wife while she was recovering from accident injuries in order to marry a super-rich, young, blonde babe that he was already having an affair with while married – was a contributing member to one of the most notorious banking scandals in the history of the US and would have been convicted if he had been black – doesn’t understand the difference between the different factions of participants in a country we’re occupying – suggests Pakistan has a border with that same country when it doesn’t – was recently on vacation yachting with a convicted thief and Hollywood celebrity – flip-flopped on torture, tax breaks for the richest Americans, campaign finance reform, Bush, veteran’s benefits, immigration reform, etc etc etc

   P.S. Thinking about it further I do think that people like Colin Powell would have endorsed McCain if he were black and not Obama. So yes, I think things would have been a little different.
