Chavez ordered the U.S. ambassador to leave Venezuela within 72 hours on Thursday, accusing the diplomat of conspiring against his government and saying he would also withdraw his own envoy from Washington immediately.

Chavez made the move in solidarity with Bolivia after his Andean ally expelled the U.S. diplomat there, accusing him of aiding violent protests. He said a new American ambassador will not be welcome in Caracas “until there’s a U.S. government that respects the people of Latin America,” suggesting that diplomatic relations will be scaled back until President Bush leaves the White House.

On September 11… What a disgrace this man is, folks. What a disgrace. The President of Venezuela mouthing off like a wayward teenager against this boogieman that is the United States of America. I want you to watch this speech in full and get a grasp for who this man is. The delusional, power hungry fool that is Hugo Chavez was slapped down once by the voters in Venezuela and we can only hope they will lay him flat out again. I’ve talked to many Venezuelans including people living in Caracas right now and the vast majority of them think that Hugo Chavez is a megalomaniac hell-bent on fast-tracking his way to dictator of Venezuela. He is more than a fool that should be watched, he’s reason #4,974 for energy independence.
